Big Brother

I thought this was such a cute picture. E loves to hold H on his lap, and give her hugs and kisses. Sometimes his hugs are more like a body slam, which H doesn't enjoy so much.

Daddy Babysitter

So the other evening I left the kids with Jared so that I could go do some grocery shopping (and regain some sanity after being home alone with the kiddos all day). When I came home, I found E in the living room with a once full box of baby rice cereal poured all over our coffee table and rug. E was having a great time drawing pictures on the table. Jared had been in the other room with H and didn't notice untill right before I walked in the door. At this point a parent has two choices, get mad and scold the child, or laugh and grab the camera. I think we made the right choice on this one. I just need to make sure that I keep the cereal out of Es reach from now on.

Colorado or Bust!

Well, after much deliberation and thought and prayers, we have decided to join forces with JoDee and Alex in Colorado Springs, and go into real estate. So we are currently looking into renting out our condo, and we plan on arriving in Colorado on May 1st. Jared told his parents this morning, and although they are sad to see us go, they feel that this could be a good experience for us. We are grateful for their support, as well as the support of Maryle's parents, and all those in Colorado we will be going to join. Families are such a wonderful thing!

I'm Back!

So after a couple of months of being a complete slacker, I am getting back on top of this. I'll probably put in a couple of posts today just to get caught up.

Picture time

Last week we went to have our family picture taken, and also have individual pictures of the kids. I think it was too much to try to do at one time.







H was great for her pictures.













She posed and smiled for the camera.












E started out unsure, even though we had brought his favorite toy, Thomas.

This is how he ended up. I don't think I have ever taken him to have his picture taken when he didn't have a hard time.








By the time we got to taking the family picture, both kids had had enough, and this is how the session ended.
So, I think from here on out, we will do the kids pictures and the family pictures separately.

Birthday

We just celebrated E's 2nd birthday a few days ago, on the 10th. Jared's parents and sisters Jessica, Kayleen, and Heather came, and Heather's two girls. Maryle's parents were there too. It was a lot of fun. E loves the movie Cars, so we had a cars themed birthday party.

And even though it was a Cars themed party, half of his presents were Thomas the Tank Engine toys, because he loves trains too. Although I don't think he understood the concept of it being his birthday, he really enjoyed the fun.
